Busy days!

The days and months are flying by! As though I can literally see the pages flying off of the calender. I'm proud to say most of my Christmas shopping is done! One big gift left to get for my bro and some more stocking suffers, along with a couple gifts for some family members and then I can relax! I will also be making some Koulourakia. Which are Greek cookies my Grandmother used to make for Christmas. We would receive a red tin every year and I would devour them!! They are SO good and almost bread-like w/ a hint of anise, twisted in the shape of a ribbon w/ sesame seeds on top! HEAVEN! I'm proud to be carrying on the traditions my family had once done. Even though they have passed their traditions will live on within/because of me and my brother!! I feel its very important not to forget about them and to make sure my brother enjoys them as much as I did! To me that is what Christmas is all about!

The Christmas tree will be going up this weekend. After I'm done here, I'm off to the basement to find the boxes of Christmas decorations... THREE GENERATIONS of decorations are in this house!! Along with my own. I'm excited to go through them! I will have stuff from my mother including stuff used when I was a kid, my grandparents stuff w/ possibly stuff from when my mother was a kid AND my great grandmothers stuff! I will post some pictures of some of the vintage things I find, as well as the tree when I'm done!

On the farm..
The Goats are getting their winter coats..they look even cuter w/ their poofy cheeks and heavy fur coats! I bring them hot water every morning to thaw out the water buckets and they run over to sip up the warm water, tails wagging! The chickens are giving us eggs once again since we put a light on a timer to give them 15 hours of daylight! The one and only hen that grew up from the babies we got last summer gave us the smallest, roundest little nugget of an egg yesterday! So now we have 4 hens a-laying! *wink! She is also our rooster, Reds, girlfriend! They are inseparable..pictures coming soon! Hopefully I can get one of Red putting on the moves for her. He does this little dance where he kicks out a leg and poofs up dancing to the side! LOL
As for the ducks.. it looks as though we have 2 females and one very happy male! I have heard Muscovy's are quite the baby-makers so I imagine we shall see soon! They have also discovered they can fly. First thing in the AM they stretch all out..flapping their feathers and then whoosh! They are off! They do about 2 circles around the house and yard and land where they took off,,, tail feathers wagging..like dogs! Its cool to see and I'm so glad they don't fly away!

I hope everyone enjoys their holidays..and that its filled w/ love and laughter!
I'm off to the basement to hunt for boxes filled w/ Christmas items..packed up and cherished by 3 different generations of women!! Talk to you soon!
♥~ Cass
